The Arsenal Interpretation Center is based on the concept of “Shackles,” which represents restriction, control, and freedom. The design shows this idea through closed and narrow spaces that gradually open into larger public areas, creating a feeling of release, memory, and awareness.
The project is planned as an interpretation center that tells the story and importance of the arsenal through movement and space. Features like tunnels, framed openings, memory plazas, and amphitheatre spaces guide visitors through different experiences of compression, openness, reflection, and interaction.
The project uses concrete structures along with exposed steel elements to create a strong industrial look. Skylights, natural ventilation, shaded walkways, and landscaped spaces improve comfort inside the site, while the angular forms and changing spaces help express the “Shackles” concept through light and shadow.
