The location of Limbova Street is within a 30-minute walk from the city center of Trnava. There is an industrial complex near the area, which does not have a good impact on the given location. The area has a housing estate character with a strong rectangular structure with complementary green areas. The location of the area has a family character, which contributes positively to the atmosphere of the school grounds on Limbová Street.
The building is located as an extension to the kindergarten part, where the kitchen and the staff management facilities are located. The building is shaped in the shape of the letter L, thus geometrically accepting the existing structure of the buildings in the school campus. In the forecourt of the proposed building there are parking spaces for parents and visitors to the sports complex. Parking spaces for employees and supplies are provided by the existing kindergarten, which makes parking in the area in front of the proposed building easier. The rectangular geometry is also supported in the paving. The design is supplemented with paved areas shaped in a geometric shape in the shape of a circle, which is already found in several forms in the school campus. The proposed building is not only functionally connected to the existing kindergarten, but also suitably positioned with respect to the cardinal points. In the playground part, a semi-enclosed space is proposed, which connects to the existing playground and sports area in the complex. Surface treatments are materially designed as permeable concrete in the parking part, permeable paving - sidewalks and EPDM surfaces used in the playgrounds.
The material concept of the building is based on the idea of connecting two buildings - the existing kindergarten and the proposed kindergarten. Their connection will create the possibility of using the dining room and multifunctional room also for children from the existing six classes. Currently, meals are served in the classrooms during the day, which is not an ideal solution. The L-shape allows for the best use of the cardinal points. Two units in the building - the back room with the kitchen, dining room and classrooms are connected by glass corridors. This fact ensures the smooth operation of the kindergarten. The classrooms have sliding systems within the window openings, which allows the interior and exterior to be connected even in adverse weather. The building has a pergola, which operates using an electric system for rotating roller shutters at different times of the day and in different weather conditions. The accents of the building are the designed windows in the shape of a circle in parts of the corridors. The idea of a circle, which is further developed in the ground plan in the playground section, is the philosophy of the continuity of relationships between teachers and children.
The building structure consists of reinforced concrete walls and columns, which are plastered and designed in neutral colors. A structured linear plaster is designed around the window openings, which completes the overall appearance of the building. The floors in the interiors are primarily rubber due to their durability and easy maintenance. The roof is designed as an extensive vegetated roof, which supports the ecological function and environmental benefit of the building, while also integrating the roof into the green character of the surroundings. EPDM surfaces are designed in part of the playground to prevent impacts during children's games.
