Idea projektu

A weekend cottage designed around passive cooling principles, utilizing natural processes such as ventilation, evapotranspiration, and shading to maintain comfortable interior temperatures without mechanical systems.

Popis projektu

The project is a weekend cottage that employs multiple passive cooling strategies for sustainable and healthier living. Key design features include green cooling through evapotranspiration, cross ventilation for cooling through air movement, trees near the building acting as natural microclimate coolers that filter and absorb dust, trees and boards as shading devices to prevent direct solar radiation and maintain cool interior temperatures, roof overhangs that shade walls and windows to reduce heat gain and improve insulation, and trees acting as natural filters by trapping dust and cleaning surrounding air. The plan evolution shows the development of the building's floor plan through iterative design stages. A user analysis considers activities like stretching and running that improve blood circulation, stamina, and longevity.

Technické informace

The building design approach uses natural processes such as cross ventilation, natural insulation, and shading to cool spaces without mechanical systems. Roof overhangs shade walls and windows, reducing heat gain and improving insulation performance.
