The core ideology is continuity through evolution - instead of viewing the past and the future as separate entities, the design treats history as a foundation that supports new growth. By preserving existing barracks and Galpón 9 exactly as they are, the design acts as a scaffolding or witness that frames history without encroaching upon it.
The project is an Interpretation Center and cultural complex at Arsenal Park in Argentina, built around the remains of a clandestine detention center. To avoid a traumatic experience, the center should not sit heavily on the ground of the former detention center. Instead, it uses a design language of lightness and transparency with elevated, bridge-like pathways connecting buildings, creating a flow of continuity where visitors can overlook the historical site from a perspective of safety and reflection. The spatial narrative moves from darkness to light - from a heavy, enclosed past to an open, communal future, celebrating the resilience of the people and the vibrancy of current culture. The journey follows three phases: The Threshold (Past) near the preserved Galpón 9 with subtle semi-subterranean architecture matching existing brickwork; The Transition (The Bridge) through a Memorial Art Gallery with glass walls opening to views of the Urban Park symbolizing democratic transition; and The Pinnacle (Pride) featuring the Concert Hall and Academic Complex as the most modern, technologically advanced parts of the site.
