The main idea behind the project is to design a peaceful weekend retreat based on biophilic architecture, where nature becomes the heart of the living experience. The planning is organized radially around a central black olive tree, symbolizing harmony, interaction, and connection with the environment. The courtyard acts as both a social gathering space and a climatic feature that improves ventilation and daylight inside the building. Curved forms and layered spatial organization create smooth circulation while maintaining equal visual access to the central green space. The design aims to provide a refreshing escape from urban life by blending architecture with landscape and natural elements.

VERDA is a biophilic weekend cottage designed to create a strong connection between nature and living spaces through radial planning and a central courtyard. The design revolves around a focal tree placed at the core, allowing every space to maintain visual and spatial interaction with nature. The cottage includes shared family spaces, private bedrooms, recreational areas, and outdoor amenities such as a swimming pool and landscaped decks, creating a calm and relaxing retreat environment. Natural lighting, ventilation, and indoor–outdoor connectivity are enhanced through open planning, glass openings, and courtyard-based stack ventilation. Materials like wood decking, stone paving, concrete walls, and large glass surfaces contribute to the warm and modern aesthetic of the cottage.

Technické informace

VERDA is a G+1 biophilic weekend cottage designed using radial planning around a central courtyard with a black olive tree as the focal point. Planned on a 55 m × 35 m site, the cottage has a maximum height of 9.25 m and uses reinforced concrete walls with large glass openings for natural lighting and ventilation. The curvilinear form enhances smooth circulation and visual connection to nature. Materials such as wooden decking, stone paving, exposed concrete, and glass are used to create a warm and modern aesthetic. The design also includes stack ventilation, a swimming pool, landscaped decks, and indoor–outdoor living spaces for a relaxing weekend retreat.
