A gateway structure for the Dejvice Campus in Prague, featuring a tower as vertical communication element set in the golden ratio, with a horizontal canopy that extends the surrounding built fabric and adapts the ground plane for pedestrians.
The project creates a landmark entrance to the Kampus Dejvice through a tower and a horizontal elevated walkway/canopy structure. The design responds to the existing urban context by horizontally continuing the surrounding block structure while introducing a vertical tower element positioned according to the golden ratio. The ground level is adapted for pedestrian movement, creating a public space beneath the elevated structure. The building features multiple floors with floor plans showing a compact tower footprint and an expansive canopy level. The structural solution incorporates laminated safety glass, steel columns, and a steel grid substructure.
The structural system uses a steel frame with laminated safety glass panels (nepriestrelné bezpečnostné sklo), steel columns (oceľové stĺpy), and a steel grid substructure (oceľová príhradovina). Floor plans are shown at 1:300 scale for 1NP, 2NP, and 3NP. The project includes cross-sections and elevations from multiple directions (severozápad, severovýchod).
