The project proposes a new gallery building in Stará Boleslav that creates a cultural hub. The building addresses the urban context through its massing, which is fragmented into several interconnected volumes with saddle roofs, referencing the archetypal form of local architecture while creating a contemporary structure.
The concept of the building is based on fragmenting the mass into several proportionally related volumes with archetypal saddle roof forms. This approach not only visually reduces the scale of the building but also creates an architecturally enriching system of varied interior spaces. The facade is composed of travertine and folded sheet metal, with large glazed surfaces allowing natural light into the gallery and exhibition spaces. The interior features an atrium garden that brings daylight deep into the building. The gallery spaces are designed as flexible exhibition halls that can be subdivided into smaller units.
The structural solution includes reinforced concrete construction with travertine and natural stone cladding. Materials include folded sheet metal (facade), glass, and travertine stone cladding. The building comprises two floors (1.NP and 2.NP) with exhibition halls, gallery spaces, and service areas. Documentation includes floor plans at 1:200 scale, western and northern elevations, and three cross-sections (A-A, B-B, C-C). The site plan is shown at 1:750 scale with the broader context at 1:3000.
