Idea projektu

A chapel and memorial design inspired by the Red Tower of Death, creating a contemplative space that integrates into the natural landscape with references to historical memory and suffering.

Popis projektu

The project consists of two main elements - a chapel and a memorial. The chapel is designed as a dark, monolithic volume with vertical slat-like elements forming the facade, allowing filtered light to enter the interior. A prominent golden cross serves as the focal point of the chapel interior. The memorial component features an arrangement of cylindrical elements of varying sizes radiating outward from a central point, creating a field-like installation. The design concept draws from the historical context of the site, incorporating symbolic elements that reference memory and commemoration. The chapel sits on a raised platform integrated into the landscape with surrounding trees and a low wall defining the precinct.

Technické informace

The chapel plan shows a linear arrangement with vertical structural elements forming the envelope. The section reveals the relationship between the solid wall structure and the slatted facade system. The memorial layout follows a radial pattern with elements of different diameters arranged in a spiral-like configuration. The axonometric drawings show the construction logic of both the chapel with its repeating vertical panels and the memorial with its scattered columnar elements.
