Idea projektu

A foundation building dedicated to Zdeněk Sýkora located in Prague's Letná district, designed to respond to the surrounding context of functionalist museum buildings and the adjacent park landscape, serving as a cultural institution mediating between the urban structure and the greenery of Letná.

Popis projektu

The design of the foundation building draws from its surrounding context. It is situated on Letná, referencing the character of nearby functionalist museum buildings on one side and the park character on the other. The building is conceived as an independent yet contextually sensitive object that serves as a transition between the urban fabric and the Letná park landscape. The form responds to and carries the character of existing museums in the area while also incorporating natural elements through its relationship with the park. The foundation is envisioned as a place for exhibitions, sculpture, and public art, connecting the cultural character of nearby institutions with the natural and open atmosphere of Letná. The architecture aims to create a mediating space between the building and the park — a space that invites not only through function but also atmosphere.

Technické informace

The project includes site plans at 1:5000 and 1:500 scales, floor plans at 1:200 (1st underground floor, 1st floor, 2nd underground floor), sections A-A' and B-B' at 1:200, south, west, east, and north elevations at 1:200, and an axonometric view at 1:200. The building features a concrete structural system with tower-like vertical elements and cantilevered volumes creating open ground-level spaces.
