A ceremonial hall situated in an open landscape in Dolní Břežany, directly connected to the local cemetery and its surroundings. The design draws inspiration from tumuli (burial mounds) found in many cultures worldwide, harmonically integrating into the cemetery grounds.
The building has a naturalistic character combining landscape, organic and historical elements, referencing the cultural heritage of the area. The form of the ceremonial hall harmoniously resonates with the surrounding cemetery landscape. The building's shape flows smoothly into the terrain, supported by two main structural walls creating an intimate interior space. Like a burial mound, the ceremonial hall is covered with grass turf, merging with the surrounding surface. With natural stone construction, the building evokes a sense of solidity and a timeless sculptural quality. The entrance area features a barrel-vaulted passage and a lantern-lit main entry. The interior includes a walnut wooden lining that allows natural light to filter in, creating a softly lit space. An integral part of the design is a garden with plantings that define the entire ceremonial area, with benches and seating under various tree species providing intimate spaces for contemplation.
