Kulturne-spolecenské centrum Cholupice

Idea projektu

The designed building replaces the original cultural center that was facing demolition. In its place, a new multifunctional complex is created, which includes a cultural center, café, and residential floors. The individual functions of the building are operationally separated and designed so they can function independently.

Popis projektu

The project is located in the municipal district of Cholupice, Prague 12, an area that retains the character of a former rural settlement with detached family houses. The site is situated near a bus stop and a small public space that serves as a park with seating areas. The concept is built on five key ideas: separating functions so each part fulfills its purpose while functioning independently, maintaining a simple operational and spatial concept, designing the hall so both spaces can be used simultaneously for different events, placing the café facing the street to attract clientele while providing direct access to the terrace and garden, and working with the facade and building materials to reflect the surrounding character of the buildings while creating an open and attractive public space.

Technické informace

Documentation at 1:250 scale includes floor plans for basement (-1 NP), ground floor (1 NP), second floor (2 NP), and third floor (3 NP). Sections AA and BB are provided along with north, south, east and west elevations. Site plan at 1:600 scale shows new parking area, street furniture with greenery, and bus stop. The project is from the AT02 studio (Ateliér architektonické tvorby 2), 2nd year / 4th semester, LS 2025/2026.
