Idea projektu

An entrance pavilion for the Holešovice Exhibition Grounds conceived as a cylindrical structure that serves as a welcoming gateway, providing shelter and orientation while maintaining visual transparency and lightness.

Popis projektu

Pavilon NULA is designed as the entrance object for the Výstaviště Holešovice exhibition grounds. The concept creates a circular pavilion that functions as a transitional space between the city and the exhibition area. The cylindrical form uses scaffolding tubes as the primary structural framework, combined with CLT panels and sun-shading fabric canopies. The interior features a spiraling ramp and seating areas with prefabricated concrete benches. The design prioritizes material honesty and a temporary, lightweight aesthetic that complements the existing historic exhibition buildings.

Technické informace

The structure utilizes scaffolding tubes of 50mm diameter as the main structural system, CLT panels of 50mm thickness for wall and floor elements, and fabric shading canopies for sun protection. The construction detail shows the connection between the scaffolding tube framework and CLT panels. Prefabricated concrete benches are integrated at ground level. The building is presented with floor plan at 1:150 scale, two cross-sections (Section A and Section B at 1:150), and a site plan at 1:1000. An axonometric exploded diagram illustrates the material and construction solution.
