The main idea was to create a lively social space that connects sports activities with public space. The key element is a newly created outdoor space of the sports hall connected with the existing football field.
A multifunctional sports hall located in Ďáblice, Prague 8. The municipality needed a multifunctional sports hall that would serve both the public and organized sports. The site is located near a football field, kindergarten, and a community center. The design creates a cohesive sports complex linking the new hall with existing facilities and public spaces.
The main load-bearing structure consists of glued laminated timber truss beams and columns. The main columns are placed on a grid of 200x200mm cross-section with laminated timber class L1/L2. The roof panels are made of laminated timber 1.L2 with a height of 1500mm. Wall panels are cross-sections of 100x140mm. The structural sheathing consists of OSB boards 25mm thick. The building envelope is insulated and clad in smooth plaster surfaces. The sports floor uses specialized sports flooring with KVT panels providing the required flexibility. The building includes mechanical ventilation, automatic fire detection systems, and electronic access control.
