A project responding to the need to revitalize the inner courtyard block in Háje, Prague, transforming an underused urban space into a modern multifunctional community hub that serves as a gathering place for the neighborhood.
The Junction is located at ul. Exnárova, Háje, within the Vnitroblock Háje area. The project creates a multifunctional building designed as a community center with spaces for social gatherings, cultural events, and everyday activities. The design features a distinctive red-clad structure with large glazed facades and a prominent pitched roof form, allowing natural light to flood the interior spaces. The building includes a main hall, café/restaurant areas, offices, storage facilities, and flexible spaces that can be adapted for various community uses. The modular approach to the interior layout allows for different configurations to accommodate diverse programs.
The building is organized over two floors (1.NP and 2.NP). The ground floor includes a main hall (361.74 m²), restaurant, WC facilities, kitchen, cloakroom, office, and storage areas. The second floor contains a bar, salon, studio, and additional storage. The structural system utilizes a modular approach with steel/timber framing and large glass panel infills. The building features a distinctive red metal cladding system on the exterior with detailed anchoring connections shown in construction details. The section (Řez A-A') reveals the double-height main space with the characteristic roof geometry. The total building height reaches approximately 8 meters.
