A community house on the village green in Psáry, serving as a cultural and civic center that integrates with the existing village fabric and creates a continuous public space.

Popis projektu

The project proposes a municipal community house located on the village square (náves) in the village of Psáry. The building is designed as a cultural and civic center that respects the traditional village character while introducing contemporary architectural language. The design connects the village green with a new public space, using gabled roof forms typical of local vernacular architecture. The facade features timber lathing combined with plastered surfaces and stone paving, creating a dialogue between traditional and modern materials. The building program includes a multifunctional hall, café/bistro, offices, and community spaces arranged around a central public courtyard. The characteristic red-brown color of the Červená barva (red soil) of the Psáry area is incorporated into the public space design. The project emphasizes the importance of creating a gathering place that supports various social interactions and community events.

Technické informace

The building consists of two floors with floor plans at 1:250 scale. The ground floor contains entrance hall, multifunctional hall, café, kitchen facilities, and storage. The second floor includes a balcony overlooking the hall, office spaces, and additional rooms. Cross sections and longitudinal sections are provided at 1:250 scale. A construction detail of the timber lathing anchoring system is shown, featuring timber battens attached via a substructure with thermal insulation (EPS), weatherproof membrane, and ventilated cavity. The site plan is shown at 1:4000 scale. Elevations include western, southern, and eastern facades at 1:250 scale.
