Idea projektu

An entrance pavilion for the Holešovice Exhibition Grounds, conceived as a multifunctional structure that creates a gateway between Stromovka Park and the exhibition complex, providing shelter and orientation for visitors.

Popis projektu

The project proposes an entrance building at the edge of the Výstaviště Holešovice exhibition grounds, near Stromovka Park. The structure is designed as a multifunctional pavilion serving as the main entry point to the exhibition area. It incorporates a café, exhibition/information spaces, and creates a covered transitional zone between the park and the industrial palace complex. The design responds to the historical context of the surrounding buildings while introducing a contemporary timber and steel construction. The building features a distinctive canopy roof structure that provides shade and shelter, referencing the project title 'In the Shadow of Stromovka.' The layout includes ground floor spaces with a café and information/exhibition areas, with a second floor providing additional gallery or viewing space with tiered seating.

Technické informace

The construction system utilizes a hybrid approach combining steel and timber elements. The roof structure employs wooden beams supported by steel columns, creating large spans. The building uses a terraced system with wooden decking as the main floor surface. The facade incorporates timber cladding, textile shading elements, and glass panels. The structural system allows for flexible interior configurations. Floor plans are shown at 1:200 scale, with the site plan at 1:750 scale.
