The design for the Zdeněk Sýkora Foundation headquarters on Prague's Letná plain aims to create a space whose character reflects the artist's creative work, translating Sýkora's fundamental principles — point, line, structure, and order — directly into the architecture of the building.
The concept derives forms directly from an interpretation of Sýkora's geometric compositions applied to architectural space. The building functions as a kind of kaleidoscope, with spaces that flow naturally into individual crystalline forms — whether exhibition areas, corridors, or outdoor foundation spaces. Thanks to this approach, each interior opens views to the surrounding park. The perimeter cladding features white translucent surfaces that not only illuminate the interior but also create playful interactions of light and shadow through their shifting patterns, reminiscent of an ordinary kaleidoscope. The new building maintains a quiet, rhythmic base above which the distinctive historic chimneys rise.
Site plan at 1:5000, floor plans at 1:300 (ground floor, first floor, second floor), sections AA and BB at 1:300, four elevations (south, north, east, west) at 1:300, axonometric view at 1:300. The building is located in Praha, Letná.
