Can a parking house revitalize the Vltava riverbank? The project challenges the myth of dull grey garages by creating a parking building in Prague's Braník that provides added value for the entire community.
The project proposes a parking house on the Prague Braník riverbank that breaks away from conventional grey garage design. Beyond solving parking capacity in an attractive riverside location, the building brings added value for the whole community — its roof features a basketball court, bistro, and seasonal gathering spaces. The combination of functional infrastructure, sports facilities, and views of the Vltava River gives this place an entirely new character.
The building includes underground parking (1.PP floor plan), ground floor (1.NP), and second floor (2.NP). The facade uses metal cladding that changes appearance throughout the day, shown in varying shades from gold to dark teal. The section view shows the building's relationship to the riverside terrain. Site plan at 1:7500 scale shows integration with the surrounding urban context along the Vltava River.
