Idea projektu

An entrance pavilion for the Holešovice Exhibition Grounds conceived as a ribbon-like architectural form that functions not only as a gateway but also as a dynamic transitional space, combining curvilinear construction with a bold contemporary style.

Popis projektu

The entrance object to the Holešovice Exhibition Grounds is designed as an iconic architectural pavilion that serves as a striking entry point. The ribbon-shaped concept creates a fluid, continuous form that wraps and folds to create spaces for entry, seating, elevated walkways with views, and covered areas. The design integrates OSB panels, steel tubes, and a waterproof exterior fabric as primary materials. The building features multiple levels including a main entrance, staircase, walkway with views toward the palace, seating areas, and a covered bridge. The foundations are designed as open plinths allowing various configurations. Visitors can ascend via stairs to upper levels for views and information about the exhibition grounds and the Industrial Palace.

Technické informace

The structural system is based on a curvilinear steel tube framework with a bold ribbon-like profile. Materials include OSB boards, steel tubes, and waterproof exterior fabric. The project includes three floor plans at different levels, two cross-sections (A-A and B-B), two elevations, and an axonometric drawing showing the complete structural assembly. The plans indicate main entrance, staircase, gallery, elevated walkway with palace views, covered passage, seating area, and a covered bridge.
