A refuge on the edge of a cliff in Černošice, combining the Latin words 'altus' (elevated) and 'huma' (earth). The concept is based on a system of steel V-shaped supports and a wooden ramp, creating a lookout structure that is firmly anchored yet appears to float above the terrain.
ALHUMA is a viewpoint shelter located on the edge of the Sulavy cliff in Černošice. The concept is founded on steel V-shaped supports and wooden ramps. The design aims to be visually stable while simultaneously appearing light and elevated above the landscape. The wooden ramp rises above the terrain, representing a path where one can ascend upward. The main structural system consists of solid metal profiles that safely elevate the viewing platform above the rugged terrain, while the branch-like system of supports preserves free passage beneath the structure. The ramp itself is made of dense wooden lamellas that provide a sense of safety while naturally harmonizing with the surrounding nature and completing the atmosphere of the place.
