A quiet stop — a lookout and resting point integrated into a forested hillside landscape, designed to blend with the natural terrain and offer panoramic views of the surrounding area.
The project is situated on a hillside with significant terrain context, responding to the landscape with a terraced architectural form. The building features multiple observation platforms connected by staircases, with glass railings to maintain unobstructed views. The structure is embedded into the slope, minimizing its visual impact while creating dramatic cantilevered viewing platforms that extend outward over the hillside. The design takes advantage of the elevated position to offer views toward the river valley, the town of Berounka and surrounding landscape.
The building features a stepped section with multiple levels connected by stairs, built into the hillside terrain. Glass railings with detailed anchoring connections are used throughout. The floor plan shows the internal circulation and structural layout. The front elevation reveals the cascading terraced form with cantilevered platforms. Reinforced concrete appears to be the primary structural material.
