An entrance building for the Holešovice Exhibition Grounds complex, conceived as an alternative bridge structure that connects the park with the exhibition grounds while serving as a multifunctional pavilion.
The project proposes an entrance structure for the Výstaviště Holešovice exhibition grounds in Prague. The exhibition grounds have a rich history dating back to 1891 and currently serve as a multifunctional space for cultural, concert, and sporting events. The architectural solution is a transversal structure - a diagonal bridge-like object that spans across the site, functioning both as an alternative entrance route and as a multifunctional pavilion. The design is based on the golden ratio proportional system. The building consists of a metal construction of beams and columns with profiled glass from European Modřín, massive laminated timber trusses with fire protection, and a flat roof. The structure creates an elevated walkway that provides views across the grounds while also offering covered space below for public gathering.
