A contemporary weekend cottage inspired by the timeless spirit of traditional Chettinad homes, where every space echoes with the warmth of cherished memories. Centered around a sunlit courtyard, it invites laughter, conversation, and quiet moments of togetherness while maintaining a seamless connection to the rhythms of nature. The architecture weaves heritage-inspired spatial planning with modern comforts, creating an atmosphere rich with familiarity and belonging. Here, families can rediscover the simple pleasures of childhood.The sound of footsteps across open courtyards, the glow of evening gatherings filled with stories, and the gentle passage of unhurried afternoons shared with loved ones. A contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Chettinad home, this beachfront weekend cottage is designed to reconnect families with the feeling of home. Centered around a courtyard-inspired living space, the design blends heritage, nature, and modern comfort through organic forms, tropical landscaping, and climate-responsive architecture. The result is a warm, timeless retreat that celebrates togetherness, cultural memory, and the creation of new family experiences.

Technické informace

The material palette includes lime plaster, travertine stone, sandstone, textured concrete, natural teak wood, terracotta accents, and large glazed openings to create a warm and timeless character.
The fluid biomorphic geometry of the cottage lends itself to emerging 3D construction technologies, where automated concrete printing can achieve complex curved forms that would be difficult and costly using conventional methods. This approach offers greater design freedom, reduced material wastage, improved construction efficiency, and enhanced sustainability while preserving the architectural intent of the project.
