Idea projektu

Inspired by Kakna, a legendary warrior from Mahabharata, this bus shelter symbolizes the spirit of a chariot translated into a contemporary urban structure.

Popis projektu

The design draws from the form and symbolism of Kakna's chariot from the Mahabharata epic, transforming it into a functional bus shelter. The roof structure features dynamic curvatures inspired by leaves, creating a flowing canopy that evokes movement and resilience. The paired patterns of leaves and rain define the work factor of resilience. The structure includes indoor seating areas enclosed by glass for indoor activities, textured surfaces for passaging and seating, a retaining wall, and entrance features. The bubble diagram organizes spaces including outdoor seating, indoor seating, reception, artistic display, wash room, and storage & services. The back view portrays strength, flow and function, while the wheel element of Kakna's chariot serves as a significant architectural motif.

Technické informace

Materials include wood, bamboo, glass, stone, and greenery. The glass structure accommodates indoor activities. The roof design features dynamic curvatures explaining the unique involvement and importance of the chariot in war. Retaining walls provide structural support.
