The core idea is to create a strong connection between the four main buildings through a new roof structure. At its end, the structure ends in a tower with an accessible viewing platform, offering panoramic views of the surroundings. The structure also integrates a circular water tank at the far end for water storage. At the entrance, the design features a sunken amphitheatre with a movable stage and projection screen, providing a flexible space for hosting events.
For the detailed design, I chose the Interrail building, in which I proposed a museum consisting of two main parts – a permanent exhibition and a temporary exhibition. I further complemented the museum with a restoration workshop with administrative facilities and a café that operates independently. I preserved the open space of the building, enhancing it only by the addition of a viewing balcony.
I followed LEED strategies by installing rain gardens and a retention basin for rainwater management, using shade structures with energy systems and open-grid pavement to reduce heat islands, ensuring thermal comfort with continuous insulation, and reusing most existing structures to conserve materials and resources.
