A weekend cottage inspired by a tree, not by copying its shape but by abstracting its structure, hierarchy, and growth pattern into architecture.
The design evolves from the anatomy of a tree defined by hierarchy, growth and balance. The idea is abstracted into a vertical circulation core with circular pods radiating outwards like branches, creating a biophilic design. The central lounge acts as the trunk with pods branching outward, mirroring the natural hierarchy of a tree with a strong central trunk and branches radiating outwards.
A key objective of the planning is to translate this natural hierarchy into the built form while maximizing visual connectivity to the beach. The arrangement of the pods ensures that every space enjoys uninterrupted beach views, enhancing the relationship between the architecture and its coastal setting. The design therefore combines organic spatial organization, functional hierarchy, and immersive views to create a harmonious vacation retreat.
The building features a central vertical circulation core with circular pod spaces radiating outward. The concept incorporates biophilic design principles with natural materials and greenery integration as shown in the mood board.
