Idea projektu

The design concept stems from simplicity and creates a home-like environment for residents with specific care needs. The building is designed as a special regime residential home (Domov se zvláštním režimem) in Prague 5, emphasizing accessibility, comfort, pleasant interiors and connection with outdoor spaces.

Popis projektu

The building complex is situated on a plot at the corner of streets in Prague 5 in Jinonice. The urban concept responds to the surrounding block structure. The building consists of two main volumes - a compact block forming the street edge and a second elongated block oriented into the interior of the site, creating a courtyard arrangement. The first block creates a distinct urban edge while the second block extends into the garden, allowing views toward the landscape. The courtyard provides a sheltered outdoor space for residents. The facility includes rooms for patients designed as double rooms with their own sanitary facilities, common living spaces, therapy rooms, and garden areas accessible from the ground floor.

Technické informace

The building is designed as a reinforced concrete combined structural system with load-bearing walls and columns. The facade features timber cladding with a spacing of 250mm, with floor-to-floor heights of approximately 4m. The foundation is based on foundation slabs on geotechnically improved subsoil. The structural system allows flexible interior layouts. The roof is designed as a flat roof with extensive greenery. The building includes an elevator system for accessibility throughout all floors.
