The project defines a new focal point for movement and gathering in the linear space of the Dejvice campus, creating a morphological contrast between a technologically advanced dark steel shell exterior and a soft, organic interior.
The 'Gradient' object creates a new gathering and movement node in the linear campus space of Prague Dejvice. The design derives from the principle of morphological contrast: the atelier-like exterior is formed by a self-supporting dark steel shell with fine laser graphics, while the interior is soft and organically furnished. The asymmetric mass responds directly to the direction of main pedestrian routes — it does not create a barrier in the space but rather channels and densifies it. The interior features ergonomic Swarovski panels of light solid wood that serve as visual guides through the space and define the geometry of seating. Structural protection from moisture is ensured by an open joint system of lamellae on a hidden ventilated steel grid. Above the seating zone, the mass is illuminated by innovative translucent wood (light-transmitting composite) that filters direct sunlight, creating soft diffused light in the interior.
