Mestská plaváreň s letným kúpaliskom v Prievidzi

Idea projektu

The main goal for this project was to design a new swimming hall mainly for sporting events, but also for public; with exterior public swimming pools for summer use; all that within a designated area for sports places in Prievidza - district town in Trenčiansky samosprávny kraj region in Slovak republic. Main inspiration for my design in regards to the general form of the mass and colour accents was context, that is Sports hall to the south, which was awarded the prize of Dušan Jurkovič, and nearby Ice rink arena.

Popis projektu

The project consists of three general parts:

a) The swimming hall with 50m swimming pool, waterslides thet are usable year-round, pool for high diving, locker rooms and spaces for hygiene, entrance hall on the ground level and small tribune and restaurants - one for the wievers of events and one for swimmers since they have to be always separate as per legislation - over the locker rooms.

b) Exterior servicing areas - bus stop nearby the main entrance from the north, small plazza in front of the main entrance and parkingplaces for employes, disabled and bycicles to the east, where I also designed connection fo two service roads in the sports area of town.

c) Exterior swimming areas: exterior 25m swimming pool, relaxation pool and pool for toddlers, hygienic block with toilets, resting areas with grass and trees for shade to the soutw west and playground for children, for beach volleyball and pétanque to the souteast.

Technické informace

The construction consists of steel pipe frame - columns and truss beams that are presented in the interior and have white protective layer. Roof is flat with large aticcs - construction is also of steel on which are attached panels of PUR foam and FPO membranes as theraml and waterproof isolation. Transparent facades are made of aluprof ALUPROF MB-SR60N, nontransparent of concrete and system STO-Ventec
