Idea projektu

The project is a public swimming complex for 1,000 people in the city of Tomsk. Its architectural concept is based on creating a modern, open and accessible environment for sport, recreation and health improvement. The building forms an extended horizontal volume connected with the natural and urban surroundings, while the rhythmic façade elements emphasize the dynamics of water and human movement. The complex is designed as an important public facility capable of activating the adjacent territory, strengthening the recreational potential of the urban environment and becoming a new point of attraction for people of different age groups.

Popis projektu

The main goal of the project is to create a functional, safe and expressive swimming facility that meets the requirements of mass attendance, sports training, wellness programs and family recreation. The project objectives include the organization of a convenient entrance area, the separation of visitor flows, the provision of comfortable changing rooms, sanitary and technical spaces, the formation of spacious pool halls and public areas, as well as the integration of the building with a landscaped embankment and green surroundings. The architectural solution is aimed at creating a contemporary image of a sports and wellness facility that corresponds to the scale of Tomsk and the needs of its residents.

Technické informace

The complex includes an entrance area with a lobby, registration and access control zone, cloakroom, changing room blocks, showers and sanitary facilities, main swimming pools, training and wellness areas, staff rooms, a medical room, administrative offices, technical and engineering spaces. The planning structure provides separation of visitor, staff and service flows. The building is formed as an extended one- or two-level public volume with a large-span roof structure above the pool halls. The structural system consists of reinforced concrete and metal elements. Metal trusses or beams are used to cover large spans. The façades are designed with light-coloured plastered or cladded surfaces, curtain glazing and rhythmic vertical elements, creating an expressive image of a contemporary sports facility. Interior materials must correspond to high-humidity conditions: ceramic tiles, anti-slip floor coverings, moisture-resistant panels, anti-corrosion metal elements, tempered glass and washable finishing materials. All public areas are designed according to requirements of safety, durability and ease of maintenance. The engineering systems include pool water treatment and filtration, ventilation and air dehumidification, heating, water supply, sewage, electrical supply, lighting, fire alarm systems, video surveillance and access control. Special attention is given to maintaining a comfortable indoor climate, energy efficiency and sanitary requirements. The project provides accessibility for people with limited mobility: barrier-free entrance, ramps or lifting devices, elevators where required, adapted changing rooms, showers and sanitary facilities. The surrounding area is landscaped with pedestrian routes, greenery, waiting areas, outdoor lighting and connection to the embankment or recreational environment.
The repeated wave-shaped façade panels are the main decorative and compositional element of the building. Their form refers to the movement of water and emphasizes the function of the complex as a swimming facility. The panels create rhythm along the extended façade, visually lighten the building volume and form an expressive contemporary image. They can be made of lightweight metal with a protective coating resistant to moisture and temperature changes.
