Twilight House is conceived as a calm, functional, and emotionally supportive environment for the elderly. The project aims to create a safe and comfortable living atmosphere that encourages social interaction, daily wellbeing, and connection with nature.
One of the main architectural strategies is the extension of the upper floors in relation to the ground floor, creating natural shading, improved interior lighting conditions, protected circulation areas, and a stronger sense of security and comfort for residents.
Popis projektu
Located in the Kalabria district of Prishtina, Kosovo, the project proposes a residential care facility designed specifically for elderly users. The design process is based on detailed urban and environmental analysis, including road hierarchy, greenery, sun orientation, noise levels, urban silhouette, climate conditions, and pedestrian accessibility.
The architectural concept focuses on creating a quiet and organized spatial rhythm through open courtyards, controlled circulation, visual transparency, and natural light. Shared social spaces, relaxation zones, and green areas are integrated to improve the quality of everyday life and encourage interaction between residents.
The project combines functionality, accessibility, and emotional comfort while responding carefully to the surrounding urban context.
Technické informace
The project is developed on a parcel with an area of 13,120 m² located in the Kalabria district of Prishtina. The proposal includes residential units, shared community spaces, outdoor recreational areas, internal courtyards, and accessible circulation systems adapted for elderly users.
The site analysis includes primary, secondary, and tertiary road networks, pedestrian accessibility, urban distance analysis, climatic conditions, and surrounding building typologies. Environmental considerations such as natural lighting, shading, seasonal sun orientation, and ventilation were integrated into the architectural solution to create comfortable living conditions throughout the year.
The project also incorporates landscape design elements and open green spaces that contribute to a calm and therapeutic environment.
