Idea projektu

The concept of the project is rooted in celebrating Saudi architectural identity through a contemporary vision that combines sustainability with a deep connection to place. The design is inspired by the concept of the hidden underground water sources found throughout the Taif region, which symbolize life, continuity, and the historical relationship between people and their natural environment.

The project reinterprets traditional Taif architecture in a modern way by incorporating local materials into wall treatments, interior details, and the overall color palette, all inspired by the landscapes and natural tones of Taif. The design also emphasizes sustainability through the use of locally inspired materials and environmentally responsive design solutions, creating a spatial experience that reflects the spirit of the region while balancing authenticity with contemporary innovation within a global design perspective.

Popis projektu

The project includes the entrance area, reception, and lobby, designed through a unique concept that combines textured surfaces inspired by desertification and drought with reflective elements and crystal-like forms symbolizing the hidden underground water sources of Taif. This contrast creates a spatial dialogue between dryness and the presence of concealed water, reflecting the natural identity of the region in a contemporary architectural language.

The project also features a café area with a distinctive design identity, highlighted by custom resin elements that enhance the fluid and organic character of the space. In addition, the design includes a restaurant area along with the entrance to the restroom section and part of the women’s restrooms, all designed with a cohesive material palette and atmospheric approach that reinforces the overall concept of sustainability, local identity, and immersive spatial experience.

Technické informace

The project is developed within a conventional building structure, where the design approach focused on transforming the interior spatial experience rather than altering the architectural form itself. Through materiality, lighting, textures, and conceptual elements inspired by the identity of Taif, the project creates a distinctive atmosphere that redefines the character of the existing space in a contemporary way.

In response to the harsh desert climate surrounding the site, façade solutions were carefully considered by incorporating heat-reflective glazing systems that reduce solar heat gain while allowing natural daylight to penetrate the interior spaces. This strategy enhances thermal comfort, improves energy efficiency, and supports the project’s overall sustainable design vision.
