Idea projektu

The Art Hub is an architectural art center conceived as a creative sanctuary that bridges artistic practice and public engagement. The project emerges from the idea that art should be accessible, collaborative, and spatially stimulating. Situated within an urban context, the design aims to create a dynamic cultural landmark that fosters creativity, education, and exhibition serving both practicing artists and the broader community. The central concept revolves around a fragmented, modular massing strategy that metaphorically represents the diversity and multiplicity of artistic expression.

Popis projektu

The Art Hub is organized across three floors, with distinct functional zones distributed to optimize creative workflow and visitor experience:

Ground Floor (1:200): Houses the primary public-facing functions an Exhibition Hall, a Multi-Purpose Unit (MPU), a Cafeteria, Storage, and a Library. The layout encourages fluid movement between spaces.
First Floor (1:400): Dedicated primarily to artist Studios arranged in a linear sequence, providing quiet, focused working environments with natural light.
Second Floor (1:400): Continues the studio program with additional workstations, offering elevated views and a more private creative environment.

The building is split into two rotated volumes connected by a covered transitional passage, creating an active courtyard-like entrance experience visible in the rendered perspectives. The axonometric zoning diagram clearly distinguishes three programmatic layers: Exhibition (pink), Circulation (white/grey), and Studios (blue).

Technické informace

Design methodology: The form is generated through a four-stage massing process:

Basic rectangular form
Division into two parts with different rotations
Subtraction of blocks while adding others
Addition of architectural details and elements

Façade language: Contrasting white and dark grey/charcoal concrete panels with protruding and recessed block elements creating strong light-and-shadow articulation
Structural system: Reinforced concrete frame with cantilevered volumes
Orientation: North-facing main façade (as indicated by compass rose)
Rendering software: 3D visualization produced with lumion
