Work description

Exploring the Herbal Nutritional and Health Properties of Underutilized Fruit CropOverview:This internship studies underutilized fruit crop with nutritional and medicinal potential. It aims to analyze nutritional composition, phytochemical content, and therapeutic properties, exploring applications in functional foods, nutraceuticals, and herbal medicine. The project involves literature review, sample collection, laboratory processing, and statistical analysis. Samples will be dried, extracted, and preserved for nutritional profiling, phytochemical screening, and bioassays to assess antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activities. Findings will be compiled into report highlighting the crop’s health benefits and applications. The internship provides practical experience in lab techniques, bioactive compound analysis, research interpretation, and documentation.Objectives:1)Review ethnobotanical uses, nutritional data, and research gaps.2)Collect and prepare fruit samples for analysis.3)Conduct nutritional, phytochemical, and bioactivity evaluations.Outcomes:1)Develop skills in nutritional profiling and phytochemical screening.2)Gain experience in bioassays and statistical analysis.3)Contribute to functional food and herbal medicine research.Intern’s Responsibilities:1)Conduct literature surveys and assist in sample collection.2)Process samples, perform analyses, and maintain records.3)Interpret results and prepare structured reports.
