Project idea

The project idea is rooted in physical manifestation of interrupted history. By designing sharp geometries and spaces the design breaks the silence of the abandoned military grounds. These fractures represent the lives disrupted during the clandestine operations, creating a spatial narrative where ground literally peels back to the reveal.

Project description

The arsenal memory park is a transformative architectural intervention on a 350 hectare site formerly used as a clandestine military detention center. The design addresses the heavy historical trauma of the ARSENAL by converting it into an interpretation center that balances forensic preservation with urban revitalization. This site integrates significant historical landmarks such as gallon 9 and identified mass graves into a whole interpretation center.

Technical information

Overall plan dimensions approximately 129m x 50.63m. Stage width approximately 23.69m. Backstage depth 15.23m. The auditorium depth is approximately 51.67m. The design includes two levels of seating - ground floor and gallery level. Facilities include two loading/unloading bays, two sets of toilets, wing spaces (Wing 1 and Wing 2), orchestra pit with adjustable positions indicated by + marks, box office, foyer, and reception.
