A biomorphic design concept inspired by the cellular structure of leaves, translating natural patterns into architectural forms and functional spaces such as a waiting area or transit hub.
The concept sheet explores biomorphism as a design principle. Starting from a leaf's cellular arrangement observed under a microscope, the cellular pattern is converted into a floral pattern, then subdivided polygons are deformed into triangular structures. These single patterns are made separately and interconnected with each other. The program includes AC and non-AC waiting areas, seating areas, a shop, charging area, drinkable water stations, toilets (male and female), a feeding room, and sidewalks connected to a road. Shell-like forms are transformed into dual-use seating structures where people can sit on one side and lean on the other. Materials include precast concrete poured into moulds, composite ETFE translucent material, and low-E glass.
Materials specified include precast concrete cast in moulds, composite ETFE as a translucent roofing or cladding material, and low-E glass for energy-efficient glazing. The structural concept derives from triangulated polygonal forms based on biomorphic cellular patterns. Seating furniture is designed as carved shell-like wooden structures with dual functionality for sitting and leaning.
