Project idea

A cottage formed by interlocking folded planes that wrap around a central double-height space, inspired by the Möbius strip, where surface flows endlessly creating a dynamic yet balanced form.

Project description

The cottage is formed by interlocking folded planes that wrap around a central double-height space similar to the visual logic of the image. Each 'band' becomes a roof element, creating a dynamic yet balanced form inspired from Möbius strip. The design features orientation maximizing views, cross-ventilation and shading outdoor spaces. Spatial experiences focus on floating, light and connected qualities. The form and massing utilize interlocking horizontal slabs as floors and roofs, and angled vertical planes as walls and structural fins. Climate strategies include cross-ventilation via opposite openings and courtyard effect improving airflow.
