A contemporary bus shelter design featuring an organic, flowing roof form inspired by folded planes, creating a distinctive landmark for public transit infrastructure.

Project description

The bus shelter design utilizes a sweeping, undulating roof structure composed of angular folded surfaces rendered in warm timber tones. The floor plan at 1:100 scale reveals a biomorphic layout with curved walls creating sheltered waiting areas with integrated seating. The site plan shows the shelter positioned along a vehicular road, oriented between Melambakkam and Tehicullam directions. The roof canopy spans approximately 40 meters and provides generous covered space while maintaining visual permeability. Landscaping with trees is incorporated around the structure.

Technical information

Scale 1:100 for both floor plan and site plan. The structure features a folded plate roof system supported by angled columns. The shelter dimensions are approximately 40m in length and 20m in width. The design includes a turned vehicular lane and stepped platform approaches.
