Sky Umbrella is an architectural shelter concept that uses a retractable roof system inspired by an umbrella form. The roof opens when weather becomes extreme, allowing it to accommodate more people and provide protection during harsh conditions. The design incorporates sensor-based kinetic-proof technology for the retractable mechanism. Key design elements include tactile flooring, perforations in walls to help with humidity, seating areas , and toilets designed for wheelchair users. The central mast around which the ac waiting room is planned , supports solar panels for energy generation. The zoning includes parking, ramp access, refreshment kiosk , feeding room, and separate toilet facilities with an entrance and exit.
Materials include RCC structure, PTFE coated fibre glass, UV polycarbonate, thin film solar panels, and lightweight materials. The roof is a sensor-based kinetic-proof retractable system. The central mast structure supports solar panels. Wall perforations assist with humidity control. The facility includes accessible design features with wheelchair-adapted toilets and ramp access.
