Project idea

A bus shelter inspired by a snail, where the shell represents protection and the extended body represents movement. The design creates a space where commuters transition from an open, flowing path into an enclosed zone, just like a snail retracts into its shell.

Project description

The form development begins with initial inspiration from geometric shapes representing movement, simplifying into basic volumes as extended space. The shell serves as the main enclosure body with an extended space, and a curved roof flows from the shell. An opening towards the front defines the entry, creating sheltered seating zones within the shell structure that follows the organic form. The program includes a bus shelter as the central space, with a resting space, feeding room, snacks bar, and restroom arranged along the zoning plan.

Technical information

Materials include pneumatic material, glass, concrete floor, timber finish, and a general finish material. The zoning plan organizes the entrance leading to the bus shelter area, with resting space and feeding room on one side, snacks bar centrally located, and restroom at the far end.
