Project idea

The main idea was to capture the atmosphere of sitting in a park next to a building, trying to step out of the present and bring back a feeling of wanting to stop time. A building that does not attract attention but is not afraid to be different.

Project description

The project is located in the spa town of Poděbrady. It aims to connect with the existing development in Poděbrady while providing modern services and retail. The building should contain a café with a confectionery, fitness center, conference hall, and residential accommodation. The goal was to create a space that is engaging yet unobtrusive, one that does not disrupt the surrounding tranquility. The design takes the form of a simple cube, sufficiently straightforward so as not to disturb the current atmosphere while incorporating new elements. The building together with its surroundings aims to create a connection between natural and urban atmospheres.

Technical information

Documentation includes floor plans and sections. The spatial solution shows the building massing in context with surrounding structures and landscape. Site plan and broader context situation drawings are provided at various scales.
