Project idea

A new service center with a city library in Stará Boleslav, designed to integrate into the historic part of the city while providing civic services of the highest standard.

Project description

The building form responds to the character of the surrounding development and through its angular massing creates a dynamic composition. Individual parts of the building create spaces between them that form both open and semi-enclosed, more intimate areas. The building invites visitors through open spaces and connects the exterior with the interior. The project includes a city library (Městská knihovna) as the primary program. The site plan shows integration within the existing urban fabric with careful attention to pedestrian connections and public spaces between building volumes.

Technical information

The project includes floor plans at 1:200 scale (1NP and 2NP), sections (ŘEZ A-A1 and ŘEZ B1-B1 at 1:200), and a southwest elevation (POHLED SV at 1:200). The construction scheme shows roof construction details, perimeter walls, exterior cladding layers, floor construction, and foundation construction. Materials include brick/stone cladding, metal roofing systems, and timber structural elements. The concept diagrams illustrate the volumetric development of the angular building forms.
