Project idea

The cultural-community center in Cholupice is designed as a new public landmark in the heart of the village. The project revitalizes the village square and serves as a place for community life, cultural events, and leisure activities. The design emphasizes simplicity of form, a transparent ground floor, and the creation of quality public space.

Project description

The building of the cultural-community center is intended to revive the square space and create a new place for meeting local residents. The design integrates cultural, social, and leisure activities and their facilities into a single urban planning unit. The concept stems from a simple massing that responds to the character of the square and the surrounding terrain. A transparent ground floor opens the building to the public and connects interior with the forecourt. The upper part of the mass creates a covered entrance space. A compact front section with a rhythmic facade gives the building a sense of calm and a representative character.

Technical information

The project includes floor plans for multiple levels (1NP, 2NP, 3NP, 4NP) with sections and elevations (north, west, south). The material solution features an aluminum panel skin covering the structural mass, glass facades at the ground floor level for transparency, large paved surfaces at the parterre with natural stone paving, and wooden mosaic panels for interior cladding. The site is located in the center of Cholupice, directly adjacent to the village square, with the building complementing the existing urban structure and serving as a focal point for community life.
