Design of a visitor center for the CEG FSv ČVUT (Center of Experimental Geotechnics) located in a natural wooded setting. The concept involves a simple elongated volume that is split and shifted to create dynamic spatial relationships.
The visitor center is situated within a forested area and designed as an elongated two-story building that is divided and offset. The larger part of the building directly connects to the entrance and serves as the main visitor area, while the smaller section provides supporting facilities and staff areas. The building integrates with the surrounding landscape through its materiality of wood and concrete, with the shifting of volumes creating covered outdoor spaces and visual connections to the natural environment. The design follows the principle of VOLUME + CUT + SHIFT to generate architectural form.
The project includes ground floor plan (1:150) and second floor plan (1:150), section A-A (1:150), section B-B (1:150), elevation (1:150), site plan (1:1000), and wider context situation plan (1:25000). The site plan indicates pedestrian paths within the complex, turning areas for service vehicles, and technical access to the facility. The building features administrative spaces for employees.
