The proposal addresses the problematic infrastructure and lack of community space in the surrounding area of Lišická, Praha 21 - Újezd nad Lesy. The design seeks to offer possibilities to create, produce, and invent, serving as a multifunctional space for the local community. The building opens a new layout of the plot and provides an adequate functional program for diverse use.
The project is a marketplace (tržnice) designed as a higher civic amenity with an urban plan for the surrounding territory in Prague 21. The structure features a modular timber construction system with an open, flexible floor plan that allows for various configurations of market stalls and community spaces. The design emphasizes communication with the landscape and a strong connection between interior and exterior spaces. The building is conceived as a large covered hall with a distinctive timber roof structure, allowing natural light and ventilation while creating a welcoming public gathering space.
The building utilizes a timber post-and-beam structural system with a modular grid. The roof features an exposed timber structure with clerestory windows for natural lighting. The floor plan is organized on a regular grid allowing flexible partitioning for market stalls and other functions. The project includes site plans, sections, elevations, and axonometric diagrams showing the modular construction approach and spatial organization.
