Project idea

A lookout tower structure inspired by skeletal forms, designed to provide panoramic views of the surrounding landscape near Černošice. The timber skeleton structure emerges from the hillside terrain, offering visitors an elevated vantage point.

Project description

The project is a lookout tower located on a hillside near Černošice. The structure features a distinctive skeletal timber frame supporting a curved observation platform at the top, accessed via a spiral staircase. The design integrates with the natural landscape, with the timber columns arranged in an organic pattern reminiscent of a skeleton or tree trunk structure. The curved platform at the top provides panoramic views of the surrounding area including views towards the river. The structure is designed to be lightweight and transparent, allowing it to blend with the forested hillside setting while creating a landmark destination for visitors.

Technical information

The structure uses a timber post-and-beam skeletal system with multiple angled columns converging to support the elevated observation deck. Cross sections show elevations at +4.200 and +5.200 meters. Plans are shown at M 1:500 and sections at M 1:100 and M 1:300. The site is situated on a sloped terrain with the structure positioned to take advantage of existing topography for views. The observation platform features a curved organic form with metal railings.
