A community house situated on the village green in the municipality of Psáry, Central Bohemian Region, designed to serve as a civic and social center for the local community.
The project proposes a new community house (obecní dům) located on the village square (náves) in Psáry, Central Bohemian Region. The design draws from the traditional rural architecture of the area, employing gabled roof forms and a material palette that integrates with the existing village context. The building complex is organized around a courtyard-like arrangement, creating both interior gathering spaces and an inviting exterior public space on the village green. The architectural language references local vernacular forms with prominent triangular gable profiles while incorporating contemporary elements such as dark cladding panels and generous glazing. The floor plan accommodates various community functions with flexible interior spaces.
The building features a timber structural system with a distinctive exposed roof truss construction visible in the sections. The material solution includes stone or masonry base walls, timber-framed upper construction, and a combination of dark-toned cladding and lighter rendered surfaces. The roof structure employs traditional gable forms. Floor plans show a rational layout with multipurpose rooms, service areas, and circulation spaces. The sections reveal varying ceiling heights that follow the gabled roof profiles, creating dynamic interior volumes.
