The main idea was to create a communal space in the form of a city library in the "Na Dolíku" area of Stará Boleslav. The building is conceived as a complex of structures that naturally communicates with its surroundings. The concept treats the book as a symbol of knowledge and a source of inspiration, representing both tradition and the future library. The key design element is colorful book-shaped volumes emerging from the building mass, referencing the historical identity of the city. The ground floor is divided into communication and relaxation zones contrasted by the library spaces.
The design responds to the specific character of the "Na Dolíku" territory in Stará Boleslav. The goal was to create a complex of buildings that naturally communicates with its surroundings. The architectural solution sensitively responds to the existing context and opens toward key viewpoints. The ground floor is divided into communication and relaxation areas contrasted by the library spaces. The prominent pink/red book-shaped architectural elements protrude from the roof, serving as both skylights and iconic visual markers for the city library.
The project includes floor plans for ground and upper levels, cross-sections, elevations, and a structural solution diagram. The facade features an architectonic perforated facade system. The material solution includes reinforced concrete structure with a distinctive facade treatment. The construction system appears to be a combination of load-bearing walls and frame structure with detailed structural connections shown in the axonometric detail drawing.
