Project idea

A concept for a building complex on the Na Šalandách site, organized around a central atrium and divided into two main zones with distinct functional purposes, using a combination of concrete pillars and timber structural elements.

Project description

The project proposes a structure composed of concrete pillar frames and timber construction. The building is divided into functional zones and organized around a central atrium space. The timber construction is designed to be placed on top of the concrete base structure. The design features distinctive angled wooden facade elements that create a rhythmic pattern on the main elevation. The building is set into the terrain, with sections and elevations showing how it integrates with the sloping site. Material inspirations include brick, wood, and natural textures.

Technical information

The structural concept consists of concrete pillars forming the primary frame, with timber construction for the upper portions. The building footprint is divided into 5 sections according to function. The first two sections contain larger spaces, followed by smaller units. Plans, sections, and elevations illustrate the spatial organization including a terrain section showing the building's relationship to the surrounding landscape.
