Project idea

An educational center designed at the site of the Red Tower of Death, a historical site associated with suffering and forced labor, creating a contemplative and educational space embedded into the landscape.

Project description

The project proposes a circular, sunken amphitheater-like structure set into the ground within a park landscape. The building is organized around a central circular plan with stepped terraces descending inward, creating a powerful spatial experience that evokes descent and reflection. The entrance is approached via a spiraling path that leads visitors down into the structure. The design uses dark, vertical cladding elements that create a rhythmic facade, filtering light into the interior corridors. The educational center serves as a memorial and learning space connected to the history of the Red Tower of Death site.

Technical information

The building features a circular plan with concentric stepped levels visible in section drawings. Cross-sections (A-A and B-B at 1:200 scale) show the terraced amphitheater configuration descending below grade. The floor plan shows a central open space surrounded by exhibition and circulation areas. The structure appears to utilize reinforced concrete with dark vertical cladding elements on the exterior. The axonometric drawing reveals the spiral ramp access and the relationship between the amphitheater seating, exhibition halls, and the entrance pathway.
